Pitch are working on behalf a public sector body who requires the support of an immediately available Communications & Engagement Officer.
In this position, you will help to collate information together in an informative manner to reach a cross section of the local community. Utilising multiple channels to reach the appropriate audience including internal communications, digital communications, media and social media, which will help to drive engagement in the most effective way. 
  • Help to develop and deliver a variety of communications & engagement strategies, initiatives & plans for internal & external audiences. 
  • From time-to-time, take the lead on specific areas of communications & engagement.
  • Offer strategic guidance to internal stakeholders of various levels in relation to important communications pieces. 
  • Offer effective and innovative initiatives which deliver key messages and communications for internal communication pieces, digital & social media activity and media communications channels. 
  • Work closely with the internal marketing department to help maximise campaign impact.
  • Help to deliver communications across crisis management, reputation campaigns, campaign management and strategy.
  • Engagement with and delivery of communication plans utilising local, regional and national media professionals.
  • Establish and maintain positive & professional working relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Provide effective written communications and information. 
  • Help to maintain an up-to-date website, ensuring communications and engagement pieces are fresh and in-line with campaign objectives.
  • Educated to at-least A-level or equivalent qualification level.
  • Proven experience in a similar role working within the public sector either directly or through a PR agency delivering multiple communications campaigns.
  • Working knowledge of internal & external communications, marketing, digital & social media communications.
  • Previous experience leading communications or engagement projects from concept to delivery in-line with organisational objectives.
  • Some experience with website management for regular updates. 
  • Exceptional verbal & written communication skills.
  • Experience to identify & deal with sensitive issues.
  • Delivering projects to agreed deadline in a pressure environment.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritising work including high level planning and organisational skills.
  • Adaptable manner to react to a variety of scenarios.

Whilst the client are working remote for the time being, once restrictions are lifted there are plans to return to the office with the scope for flexible working.
