Our client is a global organisation who specialise in the manufacturing of building materials. The UK arm of the business has a headquarters in Rugby and is recruiting for an External Communications Manager. The Communications team is 4 people strong and then they have a marketing team which is predominately digital who work closely with the bid department. The business is doing fantastically well and they have a lovely working environment with an entrepreneurial culture.
This role of External Communications Manager will only focus on stakeholder relations, brand and communications across external facing channels. It is a B2B focused role and these 4 points are the key areas of responsibility.
- Preparation of all external communications - proactive and reactively writing stories for all channels
- External PR campaigns which interface with the public
- Growing, developing and nurturing stakeholder relationships
- Crisis management and being a point of contact for the media
This role of External Communications Manager has come about due to somebody leaving and they are ideally looking for somebody to join in January. You should be experienced in B2B communications and have a solid media journalism background. This job comes with a car and the reason for this is because they want this person getting out and about, so you should be happy to travel. On average this would be 1-2 days a week and rarely staying away unless you're visiting Scotland.
