So, it will come as no surprise that they’re looking for a highly skilled Packaging Designer to join their team.

The role

The team are looking for a mid-weight Designer who has experience in taking briefs from conception to completion. Including, mood board development, prototype sampling and sample catalogues as well as building digital prototypes. You’ll work closely with the clients to scope to projects out, develop ideas, evolve options and ultimately bring ideas to life.

Naturally, you’ll need to be able to produce packaging to brand and style guidelines with detailed information - pattern, colour, fonts and formats. Keeping your finger on the pulse of packaging evolution, trends and changes will also be a requirement of this role.

Reporting to the Head of Packaging Design & Innovation, you will be responsible for producing designs across our range of products from concept through to final artworks, prototype sampling and sample catalogues are also key functions of this role.

The responsibilities

• Take initial briefings from both internal and external customers owning the process from conceptualization visuals, and prototype sampling through to finished production-ready artworks.
• Create factory-ready artwork – checking 3rd party artwork pre-manufacturing also included.
• Create in-house prototypes across a range of packaging formats that may range from blank white samples through to fully finished prototypes.
• Create mood boards for materials and finishing styles.
• Create functional bespoke packaging designs using industry-standard specifications.
• Assist with the maintenance of hardware and creative software packages.

Skill Set

• An expert in the full Adobe Creative software suite
• An innovative packaging designer always looking to innovate and develop new ideas
• Experience in 3D animation software packages, proficient in Cinema 4D
• An ability to produce a high level of packaging prototypes
• A full understanding of manufacturing processes and industry standards.
• A ‘can do’ attitude with a team player approach.
• Self-motivated with an ability to work unsupervised

To be considered you’ll need to tick all the above boxes and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The ability to multi-task, manage a range of projects at one time and always organise your time effectively. You’ll need to be able to work collaboratively with the borer team be confident sharing feedback and be open enough to accept it too.
