Account Director

The Account Director is an experienced member of the account handling team. Their role is to drive client strategy and become the primary point of call for the senior contact within the client.  As well as being aware of progress and day to day tactical campaigns being delivered by the Account Managers, the Account Director is instrumental in devising the overall strategy and delivering the plan for the account. They will be one of the main people involved in securing the business through regular pitching and will be responsible for ensuring the agency team deliver on time and to clients expectations.

The Account Director will also produce and monitor accurate forecasting for internal purposes. They will have budgetary responsibility ensuring the account remains profitable.

Employers will consider candidates with a mix of agency and in-house experience, the latter often beneficial having gained perspective from the client’s point of view. An Account Director will also have several direct reports so will generally require man management experience on how to develop and motivate a team.

Salary wise outside of London the role generally pays between £40,000 to £50,000 depending on regional variance and level of experience.
