B-Hive exists to shine a spotlight on the next generation of marketing & creative talent.
Since Pitch set up B-Hive in 2008, it has worked with Universities in the Midlands to help budding talent get their first foot on the career ladder. Sadly a degree alone isn’t often enough to get you selected as companies want graduates with work experience. But how do you get a chance in the first place? And we mean real work experience, not making the tea and simply observing.
The deal is simple. Once a year, B-Hive gets a bunch of local employers together (all shapes and sizes) and sets a marketing and a creative brief. We then post the brief online as well as working with key lecturers & career departments, with a deadline to submit your answers back to us.
The best entrants in each discipline will be invited to present to a panel of industry experts in 2020. Think Dragons Den, but with less dragon-like dragons.
Once everyone has presented, each judge will select one or more students to offer paid work experience to, all announced at a casual awards event (with free food & drink). Being awarded a placement with one of these companies is guaranteed to not only give you valuable experience but to also open doors for you within the industry! It already has for many students over the last decade.
The competition will open again in October 2020 with a new panel of (friendly) dragons, fresh concept and an exciting brief. Presentations will happen early 2021.
In the build-up to the release and throughout the competition we will be providing useful content, tips from employers, workshops, podcasts and webinars to help you succeed in the competition but also in the early stages of your career.
