Digital Project Manager
The role of the Digital Project Manager is to ensure all work is scheduled and delivered on time. They will be able to break projects down into the different required tasks, ensure adequate design and development time, keep track of all amends and make sure projects stay on schedule.
They are the first to spot issues and obstacles and pulling together the right people to find a swift resolution.
On projects which have multiple elements (design, build, search, social, etc.) the role of Digital Project Manager is crucial to smooth delivery.
Unlike the role of Digital Account Manager, the Project Manager is not always client facing and can be more of an internal role acting as the glue which keeps it all together and projects on track. Digital Project Managers tend to have extensive technical knowledge and be much more comfortable working through the minutia with the development/technology teams.
Increasingly Digital Project Managers are also expected to have experience of using project management methodologies such as Agile, Waterfall and Prince 2, which sometimes requires associated qualifications to be considered.
Employers look for digital marketing and project management experience. Agency Digital Account Managers maybe be considered should there be sufficient technical knowledge and proven ability to effectively deliver complex projects.
Salary wise outside of London the role generally pays between £30,000 to £40,000 depending on regional variance and level of experience.
