Shrewsbury
The birthplace of Charles Darwin, Shrewsbury is large town based in the county of Shropshire. Known by the locals as Salop, Shrewsbury is situated just a few miles away from the Welsh border. It’s understood that during the middle ages, Welshmen would have to pay a fee to enter the market square. Although around an hour away via train, Shrewsbury is home to many commuters who work in Wolverhampton and Birmingham.
