We were delighted to host the latest CIM seminar at our new offices. We welcomed the committee and speaker Stephen Key from Edson Evers who shared the lessons of 30 years of adapting marketing communications to technology, from the telex and fax to today’s ‘mobile first’ post digital media universe.

Content marketing; inbound and outbound marketing; native advertising; brand journalism; organic search content; storytelling and brand narratives; sponsored editorial; media and brand partnership…every week there is yet another ‘revolutionary’ way to communicate with customers and other stakeholders. Understandably, marketers are ‘dazed and confused’, as the relentless increase in media outlets is matched by an equally relentless decline in consumer attention spans. To paraphrase today’s generation - ‘not listening, don’t care, it’s not about you, it’s all about me!’

In this informal presentation, Stephen Key and colleagues explored these issues and tried to provide a framework so delegates could judge whether content marketing will work for their brands and audiences.

Following the talk there was plenty of time to network over a few drinks.

Pitch will be holding further industry events with the CIM, The Drum Network and others so stay tuned!
