Pitch have been bzzzy – B-Hive 2017 is here
Posted about 8 years ago by Priya ThakurRebooted and revitalized, B-Hive is back for another bumper year of unearthing the Midlands’ top student talent.
Pitch have been busy presenting the merits of entering B-Hive to students at universities across the region, and with this year’s briefs scheduled to go live from 28th November 2016 – the proceedings have officially begun.
For those of you who don’t know about the scheme, B-Hive is a not for profit scheme that began life in 2009 as a means of introducing the very best student talent in the Midlands to prospective employers in Marketing, Advertising, Creative and PR sector.
Pitch founded B-Hive having become all too aware of a major disconnect between the region’s most up and coming talent and the career opportunities available to them on their doorstep. The aim was to highlight the brilliant creative work being produced in the region and demonstrate that graduates don’t have to move to London to kick start their careers in the sector. Aligned with this, we also wanted to create a vehicle that allowed the region’s employers to tap in to this talent. And so B-Hive was born.
B-Hive is a competition open to all under-graduate students, 2016 post-graduates and MA students of any academic discipline. The scheme offers each applicant the opportunity to win one of 24 paid work placements with a host of hugely celebrated agencies and brands, giving students the chance to work on some extremely prestigious marketing, advertising and PR campaigns.
B-Hive is split into 4 categories – Advertising/Creative, Design, Marketing and PR & Social, with each category consisting of a panel of judges representing leading creative agencies and big brands (think Dragons Den, minus the scary dragons). The hopeful applicants will respond to our brief and if successful, be shortlisted and invited to present their ideas to the judges in their category.
This scheme not only benefits the students but also the employers involved – you need only see our case studies to understand how valuable B-Hive is, both to students and potential employers; numerous previous winners have subsequently worked part-time whilst completing their University studies, securing full time employment upon immediate completion of their course (and before in some instances).
If you are a fledgling marketer/PR/creative, or an employer interested in promoting the opportunities available in your business, rest assured that this opportunity is one like no other available in the Midlands today… Give us a call and get involved.
